Bird Toon of the Day - August 2, 2015
A coal mine with three miners and a pair of canaries with a morbid sense of humor, from the October 14, 2013 Strange Brew.

Ziggy from June 27, 2012. It's actually somewhat funnier than the usual offering when you consider what the bird uses for "white-out".
The last of my 1950s archived Peanuts strips (July 4, 1954) again pits Snoopy against the bird, with predictable results.
For my 100th post, a personal favorite: Bizarro from October 15, 2014, combining my favorite breed of companion bird with one of my favorite Humphrey Bogart movies.
Mutts from July 19, 2014. How'd he get his wings to point forward like that?
The strip "Pearls Before Swine" is not known for its bird-related toons, but here is one of only two in my archive ... January 6, 2011 (I just wonder where in the country this is supposed to be if a chick is leaving the nest in the winter instead of late spring):
Cheezburger, November 23, 2012. "Speaks" for itself.
This is a strip I had never heard of until someone forwarded me this one from March 16, 2008. Monty is the title character and Pilsner is the parrot featured from time to time. I did a quick search of the archives of this strip and most of the time Pilsner isn't terribly funny, so "Monty" will make only an occasional appearance.
Free Range from November 20, 2014. The detective sort of reminds me of Columbo ("uh, just one more question, sir ... sorry to bother you ... did you know the rock would hit both of them, or were you just depending on what they always say?").
Another entry in the "birds poop on cars" category, this time from our friend Dan "Bizarro" Piraro from February 2, 2013.
