Quita Memorial Challenge Grant - Dec. 29 morning update

Our current total is $8,290, slightly over 27% of our $30,000 end-of-year fundraising goal! Donating during this Challenge Grant time makes your gift go further - and helps us build a solid foundation as we head into 2015.

SparkleSparkle is one of the birds benefitting from your collective generosity. She is a very young (we think around 4 MONTHS old) budgie who somehow escaped from her former guardian and, luckily, wound up at a shelter instead of becoming a predator's lunch or dying of starvation.  Most shelters are not equipped to handle avian medical emergencies, and this one was no different - so they called Mickaboo when Sparkle started bleeding from a broken blood feather.  Sparkle is just fine now - and is up for adoption!  (Email coordinator-parakeet@mickaboo.org if you're interested!)
