Winthrop:  From my tiny archive of the few strips that have survived the series' run in the '60s and '70s, this 1978 strip featuring the title character and a recurring one.

Peanuts:  A 1972 strip in which Woodstock tries (and fails) to be a pirate's parrot.

Six Chix:  Not the preferred kind of cake icing.

Speed Bump:  A typical "freebie for attending" promotion with an avian twist and pertinent question (given that birds, for the most part, already fly).

Frank & Ernest:  A not-too-serious look at birds and music.

Pluggers:  Today's toon is presented because all of us feel the same way about the outdoor birds. 

Mutts:  Mooch and Earl encounter their first ostrich.

Speed Bump:  Taking avian parenting to an over-protective limit.

The Other Coast:  Apparently the ratings matter to the bald eagles Eddy and Edwina.
