This next week will include my major juggling act of the month, running strips on dates other than their anniversaries, because of a ton of conflicts between the 12th and the 21st. (Someday these cartoonists need to get together and not have bird-related toons appear all at once on the same day!)

Today we have a Peanuts strip from January 5, 1966 (disregard the date in the panels as that refers to the date GoComics republished it; I look up the original publication dates in the Peanuts wiki). Today features the bird which is the predecessor to Woodstock (who didn't come along for another two months, and who was unnamed for a little over four years afterward) annoying Snoopy by bragging of being the proverbial "early bird":
