Hi, I`m Watson, I came to Mickaboo via the San Jose Animal Shelter in November 2022. I went straight to the vet for a checkup. The vet says I have some issues, including respiratory problems, but I am negative for viruses and I`m eating nonstop! Currently I am prescribed iodine, Ca, and D3. I get very stressed when handled. In nature, parakeets (budgerigars) live in large flocks. A single bird in a cage spends much of his/her life being lonely because humans have things they must do that take them away. We therefore will only adopt a single parakeet to a household if there is already at least one parakeet living there. Otherwise, parakeets must be adopted in groups of two or more.
