Hi, I`m Kwik, a female budgie who came to Mickaboo in April 2022 from an aviary rescue in Santa Clara. In my foster home, I have bonded with Spot, another Mickaboo foster bird. I love to eat veggie chop, and I`ll jump on a hand for treats. I`m a fairly quiet little bird and only venture out of my cage when I`m feeling really brave. My favorite pastime is bathing in my water dish. Please consider me for your forever home. Thanks!
In nature, parakeets (budgerigars) live in large flocks. A single bird in a cage spends much of his/her life being lonely because humans have things they must do that take them away. We therefore will only adopt a single parakeet to a household if there is already at least one parakeet living there. Otherwise, parakeets must be adopted in groups of two or more.
