I`m Burt! I`m a light-grey cockatiel who is settling into foster care.

My previous owner couldn`t keep me anymore so I came to Mickaboo. I`m a little scared of hands, but will step onto a towel without much hesitation. I do like visiting with people and having my head and neck scritched. I eat Romaine lettuce and like my pellets, though I still get some seed, too. I was a bit overweight when I came to Mickaboo, but have been staying at a consistently good weight for a while now and I know how to step onto a scale.

I like to whistle and will chatter all kinds of people sounds. My sentences all end in the word "birdy!" I like other cockatiels and will take short shoulder rides when my dad lets me. In short, I`m a great little bird! Maybe you should take me home.
In nature, cockatiels live in large flocks. A single bird in a cage spends much of his/her life being lonely because humans have things they must do that take them away. We therefore will only adopt a single cockatiel to a household if there is already at least one cockatiel living there. Otherwise, cockatiels must be adopted in groups of two or more.
