Hello, I`m Jojo, a male cockatiel. My records go back to 2009, but no one is sure exactly how old I am. I used to be friends with another cockatiel named Kasey, and we were originally bought for a teenager who didn`t want us when she went off to college, and our new home was very nice to us, even if they eventually had to turn us over to Mickaboo when they were no longer able to keep us. Our new foster home is great, and is helping us become more friendly to people. Unfortunately, I loved Kasey a bit too much, and ended up over preening him. As a result, we had to be split up, and now I`m waiting for a new best friend.

I`m an affectionate bird with a preference for male humans, but I`ll come around to anyone who gives me attention. My foster says I`m a bit chubby right now, and she`s meal feeding me to help me lose some weight. If you think I`d be a good fit for your home, reach out to the cockatiel coordinator for more info!
In nature, cockatiels live in large flocks. A single bird in a cage spends much of his/her life being lonely because humans have things they must do that take them away. We therefore will only adopt a single cockatiel to a household if there is already at least one cockatiel living there. Otherwise, cockatiels must be adopted in groups of two or more.
