Hi, I`m Masha. I came to Mickaboo in September 2021. I am a strong, independent girl.

I am centrally located at my foster home, and I love to watch what my foster folk are doing. If my foster parent isn`t quick enough at feeding time, I will let her know by chirping loudly. I will allow hands near me without panic, but I don`t step up. Occasionally if will give a finger a gentle little peck, so there`s always hope!

I do enjoy toys, I have one that is made up of interconnected rings that I love to attack & shake and practically climb through. My cage is beside another with more foster female budgies. I like checking them out and we all chirp back and forth. I enjoy watching my foster family`s activities and I am not stressed when people are active around me.

I eat a mix of Nutri-An cakes, Roudybush pellets, and a bit of seed. Our whole foster flock eats romaine, broccoli, carrot, kale, parsley, cilantro, fennel, and carrot tops. Which definitely makes me a healthier budgie than when I got here, since I was on an all-seed diet! I also love the occasional piece of millet I get for a treat.

Don`t you think I would be cute in your forever home?

In nature, parakeets (budgerigars) live in large flocks. A single bird in a cage spends much of his/her life being lonely because humans have things they must do that take them away. We therefore will only adopt a single parakeet to a household if there is already at least one parakeet living there. Otherwise, parakeets must be adopted in groups of two or more.
