Today, a Cheezburger captioned photo that I saved way back in 2011.

Thanks to the support of over 50 of you, we have raised almost $6K toward our $15K fundraising goal.  Your funds pay for urgent medical care for birds like Jasmine, a feisty 36+-year-young Blue and Gold Macaw who came to us about a year ago with several old, untreated fractures in her legs and wings, and Papillomatosis.   She can now hold her wings over her head - and has been able to fly! Jasmine has brought much joy to her foster parent's home. 

Thanks to the support of almost 40 people, we have raised over $3K toward our $15K fundraising goal.  All of our birds, including a beautiful Mallee Ringneck (representative picture shown here) rescued from a household where the elderly owner was unable to care for their pet any longer, appreciate your generosity!

The Mutts story arc from one year ago concludes with Mooch successfully returning the non-fledged bird to its nest ... just in time for a parent bird to show up, skeptical of a cat's intentions.

And now (with apologies to fans of the late Douglas Adams) the fifth episode in what I originally announced as a four-part Mutts story arc from one year ago today.

Part four of last year's Mutts story arc wraps up our month.  (There will be a part five and six tomorrow and Monday; when I set up my posting schedule I failed to look forward into May to see if the story arc continued ... and it did.)

All I could think of when I first saw this strip is my own Mickaboo budgie Chaos, who never learned to fly and makes his share of "landings" as a result.
